What does a typical day at CorporateFilming & FranchiseFilming look like for you?
A typical day for me at CorporateFilming & FranchiseFilming is what I would say, fun, amusing and laughable. I love my coworkers! They’re all great and have their own sense of humor. Having teammates that I enjoy being around makes my job enjoyable and fun. As the editor in house I oversee a number of projects. My day usually kicks off with the daily meeting, a cup of coffee and talking to my coworkers. I enjoy being able to talk and work, it really helps to keep me up and moving. I spend the majority of my day editing multiple videos for our different variety of clients that we serve.
What do you like most about working with CorporateFilming & FranchiseFilming?
What I enjoy the most about working here would definitely be having the flexibility and understanding from Trevor. He is a SUPER boss. All it takes is honest communication between the two parties. The other enjoyable part is how we get to travel to shows and conferences. I believe that going out of my comfort zone is nerve racking, but it helps me build up my personal character and work ethic as it offers so much learning experience I wouldn’t be getting elsewhere. Just the people that I get to speak to and meet at these shows is amazing! I never thought I would talk to high level personnel of some of the biggest corporations in America, or globally.
How long have you been filming or editing? When did it start?
I have been filming and editing since I finished high school in 2015. I really got into media my senior year of high school since my girlfriend at the time was taking photography classes and I saw the pictures she would take. They were cool, so cool I decided I wanted to take my own pictures so I bought a camera and that’s when it began. I proceeded to go to school in the East Coast, but transferred back to Marymount in California to pursue a degree in Film Production and Media. In the Summer of 2019, I received my BS in media studies.
We call ourselves “Passionate Storytellers” here at CorporateFilming & FranchiseFilming. What does that topic mean to you? How important is story in marketing?
A passionate storyteller to me is someone who enjoys building and making a story. I personally love putting things together and just having that satisfaction to say that “I did that” or “I put that together.” So being a passionate storyteller is someone who puts a story together and gathers the best parts and really makes them STAND OUT. The best satisfaction to me is being able to hear a client say “I love it!” or “It exceeded my expectations”. That to me is the feeling of accomplishment. Storytelling in marketing is important and vital for the growth and success of the company. How a company connects to its clients and people will make them more successful than a company who does not connect with its people. People love working with people, not an automated machine.
What have been your favorite projects with CorporateFilming and FranchiseFilming?
My favorite projects have definitely been our monthly clients such as OneLogin and Go Mini’s. Their content is controlled by a younger demographic of people and they can really understand the meaning of video and the use of it. They are also super easy going clients and are always a pleasure working with them and bouncing ideas back and forth.. FranchiseFilming has been fun with the conferences that allows us to go to and to connect with other franchise executives and teams. So, I’d say the best part that I enjoy most is the networking.
What are some things you enjoy doing outside of work? What makes you unique?
Something that I love doing outside of work is staying active and trying to live a healthy life! I enjoy hiking and nature and I love going to out of town places to hike and to take pictures of. Some of my favorites include Yosemite, Death Valley, Sanora, Mt. Wilson. I enjoy all the nature California has to offer!
Customer experience and service is our top core value here at CorporateFilming & FranchiseFilming. Why is that so important?
I believe having a good relationship with a client goes a long way. When you become a “friend” or simply more human to a client they are more likely to recommend you to other colleagues. Having a great relationship with a client is to be memorable and to be someone that they’ll talk about for the next couple of years. The best part is when you get an EASY CLIENT to work with, someone who enjoys working with you and vise versa!
One final question. If you could give any video marketing advice…what would it be?
Some great marketing advice that I have learned recently is definitely to humanize the video and connect with the viewer! You’ll definitely receive more interaction and longer watch time as videos today have to capture the person’s attention within the first 5-10 seconds!
Tell us a corny joke…Go!
What’s the best way to burn 1,000 calories?
Leave the pizza in the oven.
