When the famous cereal, Lucky Charms announces that it will be making pouches available with its Magical Marshmallows only, the moment has to be special. The company decided to take an experiential approach with skywriting shows in Los Angeles and a drone light show in New York. And of course, CorporateFilming were on hand to film the events.
Cristina Jacuzzi, CEO of The Skywriters and an experienced event producer was hired by Lucky Charms and Holliday Production to play a major role in the logistics and hiring of the Skywriting and color rainbow over Hollywood, Huntington Beach and the 120 Drone Show in NY for Lucky Charms.
The Skywriting created in Los Angeles of the Lucky Charms were each over a mile high and visible for anyone to see within a 15 mile radius. People posted about it all over social media and immediately knew it was Lucky Charms they were seeing in the sky.
During the planning process Cristina Jacuzzi referred CorporateFilming to assist in the filming and production of this exciting Lucky Charms project. CorporateFilming was hired by the H&S PR Firm to create content for their client documenting the events that took place in L.A., Huntington Beach and New York. We had 2 photographers, 2 videographers and 1 director in each city. The mission was to produce 6 second, 15 second and 30 second videos that would drive traffic and engagement to their social media and raise awareness for their new product launch, Only Marshmallows.
The Shoot
At Corporate Filming, we make it our responsibility to roll with the punches and face challenges to provide the customer with a seamless experience. The Lucky Charms shoot had its share of difficulties, but we dealt with them head on to produce a product the client was happy with.
The two L.A. area shoots, one in Hollywood and one in Los Angeles, occurred on the same day. Following the skywriting were 2 amazing vibrant color rainbows for anyone to see. It was the first time in history too for any airplane to do color skywriting for a commercial client.
Just after completion Cristina Jacuzzi and her crew were off to New York on a red eye to assist in the execution and logistics with the Drone team in New York. And CorporateFilming was also off to New York for the second day of shooting. The biggest challenge was the intense schedule. However, the team managed to keep it together and reach their goals. Here’s what director of production Javier Vital had to say.
“Our team did a great job staying on track and being ready to film and take pictures. Our biggest challenge was not being able to control nature. From winds, heat, night vision and weather, we couldn’t control any of that and it delayed us a few hours each time we were ready to capture the events.”
The crew waited out Mother Nature to get the images they needed and it was well worth the effort.
The Edit
Once all the footage was collected, Vital and lead editor Kelvin Ochoa had a long night of editing on their hands. Ochoa revealed that the two kept a 10 PM to 9 AM schedule to get the task completed. Although they both admitted to being tired, they kept spirits high.
“The overnight edit was great. Very tiring but the overall concept and end product was good!” Ochoa explains.
Vital describes his experience working with Ochoa saying, “The best moment was traveling and working alongside Kelvin, the lead editor. He is super talented, full of energy and knows how to make the most out of our adventures in cities”.
The Finished Product
The completed video truly captures the magic of the moments. It features footage of bright red skywriters flying over California skies to leave images of the various Lucky Charms shapes in vibrant colors as onlooking stare in awe from ground level.
It then transports viewers to the New York night sky where drones were used to create a light show with the signature shapes featured in lights. It also includes spectacular scenic views of both cities.
The video works to raise product awareness while capturing the excitement of the experience giving consumers all the incentive they need to try the product for themselves.
In addition to having a great finished video, like all businesses who sign up for our services, Lucky Charms gets a Subscription VIP Membership model which includes one video a month with two day filming for one year. Our services highlight our client’s franchisees to drive franchise development sales.
A Word From the Team
Now let’s take a look at some team and client feedback.
Videographer Caroline Mariko Stucky chimed in saying, “I love that CF’s main goal is to make the client happy, and they always go above and beyond to reach their objective.”
Reinaldo Robinson, another videographer on the shoot , stated that the CF team was “great to work with. They are dedicated to making it happen no matter what, obstacles be damned.”
CorporateFilming’s most important goal is making their clients happy. Cristina Jacuzzi, owner and event producer of TheSkyWriters.com described her experience. “You can expect quality results,” Jacuzzi said. “I know when I need a job done the team will produce and my clients are happy with the end results.”
Corporate Filming, CEO and self-proclaimed storyteller Trevor Rappleye sums up his company’s experience with the following quote. “We were hired to truly take over everything and have the client not stress. We handled photography, videography, overnight edit, all travel and logistics and our team edited over Labor Day weekend to make sure to hit deadlines.”
The stressful schedule and long hours are all in a day’s work and well worth it when it comes to producing content that puts a smile on our client’s faces.
